When Forklift Operator Training is Needed?

Finalized on December 1, 1998 OSHA Requires training. The employer most ensure that their operators of powered industrial trucks are trained, as appropriate, by the following dates: If hired before December 1, 1999 then the initial training must be completed before December 1, 1999. If the employee is hired after December 1, 1999 the initial training of that employee must be completed before the employee is assigned to operate a powered industrial truck. OSHA Regulation (Standards - 29 CFR) - 1910.178
